About us

Only on a motorcycle do you get that unique contact with the road. The rain is colder, the midday heat hotter. The wind in your face, the sun low on the horizon. This is where you can enjoy the simplicity of things. You notice how little you really need. No self-driving car, no room service and no queuing at the buffet.

On two wheels, you simply ride to wherever you feel like going. The “lack” of storage space gives you the freedom to let go of unnecessary baggage and focus on what matters. A lightness undreamt-of in our modern times sets in.

That is the goal we have set ourselves: to develop and offer motorcycle equipment that supports this feeling of freedom and lightness, that strengthens the bond between rider and machine.

Who we are

Two guys who love riding motorcycles, who (mostly) prefer two wheels to four and who can still get excited about a loud exhaust. What we like best is being out on two wheels, with a sleeping bag and a toothbrush, out under the thousand-star hotel. In the morning, swinging a leg over the saddle with the smell of leather, sweat and oil in your nose and a visor-shaped sunburn on your face. Whether it’s a Simson “bird series” moped, a two-stroke Russian moped or a Chinese enduro. A brutal Italian V4 monster or, on second thought, a gentle German 1200 touring engine. High-tech or low-tech, we ride anything with a spark plug and two wheels.

An engineer and a model maker – two perspectives on the same thing. In the workshop we sit down over every single part together, calculate, build and argue productively about how it should ultimately be done. It is exactly this teamwork that is the reason our products don’t just look good on paper.

We see ourselves in the tradition of the German Mittelstand: top-class craftsmanship and a passion for innovation, success through quality. Solving problems in the best possible way to keep customers happy. We are thinkers in work overalls.

Where we come from

It all began in 2008, on our first tour together: two of us on one motorcycle – in the ditch after 20 minutes, then off to the car wash to scrub off the evidence, wrapping up the car-wash visit another 40 minutes later and rolling back home in shame. 2010: geared up, 2 × Suzuki SV 650 S and off to Scotland. Still wet behind the ears, but now with a few more crashes and plenty of single-track roads under our belts.

Two years later, together in South America: frustrated with backpacking, we spontaneously bought two 250cc Chinese mopeds at the local market in Bolivia – originally just to cross the salt flats. Half a year, a lot of corruption and some questionable food later, we were standing in Alaska. After gathering fresh strength, Vietnam, the Balkans, the Allgäu-Orient Rally, countless stages of the Trans Euro Trail and North Africa were added.

Here’s the way to our travels.

The Thinkery

Inspired by the adventures we had mastered and carried by a shared Christian conviction, a company was founded in spring 2017: BEROTEC GmbH.

We started out with our savings where things like this tend to start: in the garage and a basement office at home, between the workbench and shipping boxes on the living-room table. When it got too cramped there, we rented space in an old beverage market – more room, still improvised, but finally enough space for staff, for milling, wrenching and stacking. Today, BEROTEC Motorrad is written on the outside of our own company building in Kürnbach. A lot has changed, yet we still prefer solving problems to managing them.

Who works with us

Two guys in a garage have turned into a small team. No corporate departments, but people you run into over a Kaltstart in the morning and who know that they are an important part of the company.

The fleet

We don’t have a showroom, we have a fleet. The machines are mostly dirty, taken apart or running on empty. The illusion of a complete, clean motorcycle usually only lasts for a brief moment, when Johannes gets out the camera to shoot product photos or videos.

CUMPAN in the cockpit, MOFESSOR on the chain, VEKTOR and add-on parts in action:

A small herd of Fantic Caballero – the 700, the 500 Rally from 2020 and 2025 and the 500 Superleggenda.
A few enduros: KTM EXC 250 TPI, KTM EXC 500 SixDays, Husqvarna FE 350, GasGas ES700, Husqvarna 701 Enduro
A few classics from Yamaha: XT 250, XT 500, XT 600, TT600R
For the road: Ducati Monster 1100 EVO, Ducati DesertX, BMW S1000RR, BMW K1200R and a KTM 990 Super Duke R
For wellness and slowing down: a Simson Schwalbe KR 51/2 in red and yellow as well as a URAL 650 sidecar rig

How we work

We only offer products that we use ourselves. Products that make sense, that excite the rider and make everyday life easier – without overloading it. “Less is more” is our top priority. We test everything ourselves, and only once we are convinced of a solution do we offer it.

Our goal: to develop motorcycle equipment that supports the feeling of freedom and lightness and strengthens the bond between rider and machine. Developed and manufactured in Germany, tested worldwide.

🇩🇪 Made in Germany. For us that is not a marketing sticker but a standard we hold ourselves to. We develop, mill and assemble right here in Kürnbach, we love our country and our workbenches – and we stand by it.

And now?

In the end, we are not a brand that wants to sell you an adventure. The adventure itself usually costs nothing but the will to get going. What we make is the equipment for it – thoughtful and honest.

Enjoy our products. And if you want to know where we are out riding: videos and ride reports are on YouTube, Instagram and on the travel page.
