CASTROL Power1 Ultimate 2T motorcycle engine oil 1l

Castrol Filter Oil is a special product containing solvent and mineral oil; it is used to pre-treat foam or cotton fabric filters (reusable filters). Especially for competition vehicles off-road, but also in normal road use, motorcycle paper air filters are often replaced by reusable filters. These filters have the advantage of lower intake air resistance, but they must be pre-treated for effective dust retention. In combination with a fabric filter, Castrol Filter Oil ensures optimal dust binding.

Castrol Filter Oil does not attack paint, plastics, metals or rubber. Any product spilled accidentally should be wiped off immediately, as removal becomes much more difficult once it has dried.

General note: When working on foam filters with Filter Oil, you should wear solvent-resistant gloves. Apply Castrol Filter Oil evenly to the surface of the new or cleaned filter and let it soak briefly. Then compress the filter several times and wring out any excess product. Afterwards, allow the filter to air-dry for about 15 minutes so that the solvent can evaporate and the absorbed filter oil can reach its final viscosity. Minimum shelf life when stored correctly is approx. 4 years at temperatures between 0 and 35 °C in the sealed original container.

Note: Castrol Filter Oil is suitable not only for foam filters, but also for reusable cotton-gauze filters. For cotton air filters, apply the product sparingly and evenly with a sprayer.

Properties

• + Thanks to its very low initial viscosity and good penetration, the filter oil easily enters the foam filter and wets the filter material evenly and completely.
• + The volatile solvent contained in the filter oil evaporates quickly so that the high final viscosity of the oil is reached after a short time. As a result, the filter does not lose oil either during storage or after installation in the air filter housing, even at elevated temperatures.
• + Castrol Filter Oil forms a thin, tacky film on the effective filter surfaces, reliably absorbing particles contained in the intake air without hindering airflow. This makes the treated filter ideal for demanding operating conditions with heavy dust exposure.
• + Once saturated with dirt, the filter can be washed out easily with Castrol Filter Cleaner, enabling a long service life of the gauze filter.
