The CUMPAN Cockpit Assistant is a versatile display instrument that provides meaningful information for the driver in its compact design.
The following parameters are recorded:
- RPM
- Engine temperature
- Gear signal (depending on model)
- Ambient temperature
The following information can be added to the display with the separately available Add-ons:
- Oil pressure
- LAMBDA/AFR
- Additional engine temperatures
- 12V Voltage Display
With the help of this information, the driver can utilize the full performance potential of his engine while avoiding damaging loads. The CUMPAN monitors the correct shift point via engine speed / engine temperature and warns if necessary with the integrated shift light. In addition, the currently selected gear and the ambient temperature are displayed.

What a cool little device for my 701 sm.Easy to install due to the many videos available.The hardest part was hiding the wires.The gear calibrate was very easy,just follow directions and you will be fine.Good customer support also.The order took exactly three weeks to be delivered from Germany to Long Beach, California.Not too bad.Thanks to all at Berotec for a good buying experience.

I bought the Cumpan 3 months ago for my SMC-R. I like it very much. Despite some criticism, I can read the screen reasonably well even under bright sunlight. The only defect that I find is the delay when I change gears until it is shown on the display. It’s only a couple of seconds, may be less, but enough to get you confused, especially when downshifting 3-4 gears at a time.

If you are having issues with a delayed gear shift, please recalibrate the gears in the CUMPAN menu “GEARING” as shown in the manual, that should solve it.

Ich habe mir den Cumpan zur Weihnachtszeit bestellt und diesen nun vor einer Woche montiert. Die Montage hat bei mir etwas länger gedauert als erwartet (4H) trotz Video. Die meiste Zeit ging für den Temperatursensor und das Abschrauben der Verkleidung am Motorrad drauf. Dabei ist mir aufgefallen dass das Kabel für die Ganganzeige recht kurz ist für die linke Seite des Motorrads und das Kabel für die Temperatur nur über die rechte Seite verlegt werden kann, da es für die linke Seite deutlich zu kurz war. Detailreichere Videos wären hilfreich gewesen. Allerdings war es die Arbeit wert, denn der Cumpan funktioniert einwandfrei. Überrascht war ich, als ich gelesen habe, dass man den Cumpan bei starken sonnenschein nicht mehr lesen kann, denn da muss ich widersprechen, mein Cumpan ist egal bei welchem Wetter immer gut ablesbar. Da ich das moderne Digitale Cockpit meiner damaligen Duke 125 gewohnt war und nun auf eine SMCR 690 umgestiegen bin, ist dieser Cumpan meine Rettung für Ausfahrten. Ich feier den Cockpitassistent und bin froh ihn gekauft zu haben

I bought this device for 2020 KTM 690. Long story short, I’m very happy with the device. It’s actually plug-and-play. All works fine.
The only thing I would point out, is that you need to check both videos in “Installation help”, as only the second video shows how to connect gear indicator. Also, important that you calibrate the gear indicator – it’s simple and very obvious.
So all in all, excellent product

I bought it for my 690 Enduro R 2020, works very nicely and is very compact. Only issue was in direct sunlight but other than that it’s great. Now on the downside it’s not really waterproof, my cumpan absorbed water (most probably through the cable feed) and info on the screen are not visible anymore …need to remove it Could be a better option if used for road applications

Very happy with the Cumpan kit. KTM should reconsider installing a full display like on the older 690’s. The current display is not fit for such an expensive allroad. This Cumpan kit is the best solution untill that time! It works fine, does what it promises and is easy to install and program. In pure sunlight it get harder to read but so does the KTM display for a lot of more money. Luckely Boretec created the Cumpan after KTM didn’t do the newer model 690 justice by given it a minimalistic enduro display.

Acabo de montar el Cumpan en una ktm 690 enduro 2022,todo perfecto,se agradecen las instrucciones en español y el video para el montaje. Como unica pega,estaría bien si viniera el accesorio para montarlo en el manillar.La lectura de la temperatura de motor creo que no es muy precisa,en un garaje a 20º con el motor a ralenti un buen rato ha llegado a marcar 100º,cuando se supone que el ventilador no deja que pase de 90º. Hola Oscar, Gracias por su comentario. El ventilador del radiador reacciona a la temperatura del agua de refrigeración, el CUMPAN suele estar conectado a la temperatura del aceite. La temperatura del aceite sólo alcanza la temperatura de funcionamiento tras un retraso considerable. Hemos hecho una evaluación de esto en las FAQ. Puede comprobar la precisión del sensor introduciéndolo en agua hirviendo. A continuación, debería indicar 100°C (según la altitud). Muchos saludos

Ok, aber nicht die Wunderwaffe.
Schade finde ich das das display nicht sehr hell ist. Egal welche Farbe, bei hellem Sonnenschein ist das display nicht abzulesen. Und in der nacht blendet es eher.
Weiter finde ich sehr schade das die Layouts sehr begrenzt sind. Ich hätte mir eine Drehzahlanzeige wie im Layout 3 mit kleiner Ganganzeige gewünscht. Leider fehlt da die Temperatur Anzeigen. Die Drehzahlanzeige in Zahlen is für mich unbrauchbar.
Sonst finde ich es toll das es einen Anbieter gibt, der so eine Anzeige anbietet.

Die Ablesbarkeit bei Sonnenschein ist ein grundsätzliches Problem von Displays, da es gewisse technische Limitierungen gibt. Man kann dem entgegenwirken, wenn man den Winkel oder die Position des Gerätes verändert.
Und wie von dir selbst erkannt, muss man ein Mittelweg finden, sodass ein Nutzen unter möglichst vielen Einflüssen (Tag und Nacht) möglich ist.

Nice and small, easy to install, surprisingly easy-to-read display, this is one of the best aftermarket add-ons for the 690/ 701. The OEM dash has no tacho or temperature gauges and this fixes that instantly. Great design, well done.

Display is cristal clear, always find RPM and gear position usfull, engine and ambient temp a great added measurement. If you like a bit more data on these bikes this product is a well worth adding.

Auch ich habe mir den Cumpan Drehzahlmesser für meine SMC R gekauft. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit wurde er in einer Hochwertigen Verpackung geliefert. Den Einbau mit Video und Einbaunleitung auch ich geschafft. Nur stellte sich dann heraus, dass die Touchfunktion defekt war. Doch auch hier wird Service GROß geschrieben! Unkompliziert und schnell erhielt ich Ersatz, inklusive Rückversand. Jetzt läuft mein Cumpan einwandfrei. Ich kann ihn nur weiterempfehlen. Macht weiter so. Danke!

Moin. Ich hab heute meinen Cumpan an meiner 690 Enduro R 2021 montiert. Lieferung innerhalb von wenigen Tagen. Sehr hochwertiges Gerät. Einbau war schnell gemacht, obwohl ich das Kabel 2 x verlegen müsste, weil ich eine Rade Rally Verkleidung habe,. Wenn man die Sensorkabel wie beschrieben verlegt wird es sehr kurz. Drum hab ich die Kabel links am Steuerkopf vorbei gelegt. Alles easy. Der Temperaturfühler erfordert etwas Geduld, aber irgendwann klappt’s.
Was soll ich noch sagen, super Teil zum fairen Preis.

ich habe meinen Cumpan vor 2500km auf meiner KTM smc-r 2020 verbaut. Einbau war kein Hexenwerk, nur der Temperaturfühler war etwas fummelig einzubauen – die Anleitung war klar und verständlich.
Damit die Ganganzeige zuverlässig funktioniert müssen unbedingt die Gänge neu konfiguriert werden.
Nun zum Cumpan, die Verarbeitung ist einwandfrei und die Bedienung auch mit Handschuhen möglich. Die verschiedenen Display-Layouts lassen keine Wünsche übrig, die verschiedenen einstellbaren Farben sind eine nette Spielerei. Die Temperaturanzeige ist vor allem beim Warmfahren sehr hilfreich.
Das Einzige was man womöglich besser machen könnte wäre ein matter Display, da der glänzende manchmal, bei starker Sonneneinstrahlung, kaum ablesbar ist.
Trotzdem steht einer 5-Sterne-Bewertung nichts im Wege.

erstmal vielen Dank für die pünktliche Lieferung. Ich habe den Kumpan in meine Husqvarna 701 Enduro Bj. 2016 verbaut. Ich habe erstmal nur die Temperaturanzeige und den Drehzahlmesser angeschlossen. Heute dann erfolgreich die Ganganzeige angeschlossen und kalibriert. Funktioniert super. Nur meine Husky hat einen schwarzen vierpoligen Stecker, welcher sehr schwer zugänglich über dem Ansaugtrakt liegt. Die Kabelfarbe zum Stecker hin ist bei mir grün, welches ich angeschlossen habe. Nur für die Leute die auch eine 2016 er Husky haben und verzweifelt das weisse Kabel zum Stecker suchen. Vielen Dank nochmal an Berotec für die sonst sehr gute Einbauanleitung. Alles in allem ist der Cumpan sehr edel und funktioniert super.

Nach ca. 2h Funktionsprobe. Alles tadellos. Drehzahl, Ganganzeige, Aussentemperatur und Öltemperatur.

Hallo, hab den Cumpan an meiner KTM SMCR 690, Bj. 2020 verbaut. Top Qualität, top Verarbeitung. Die Kabellängen sind perfekt und die Anleitung zur Montage ist auch für Wochenendschrauber verständlich. Lediglich die Anschlüsse zur Stromversorgung an der SMCR 2020 (ACC2) stimmen in der Anleitung nicht. Bei mir war die Verkabelung – Cumpan rot zu SMCR rot/schwarz und Cumpan schwarz zu SMCR braun. Weiß aber nicht ob das für alle SMCR 2020 gilt. Der Platz unter der missglückten SMCR Armatur ist perfekt für den Cumpan.
Abschließend kann ich sagen, dass der Cumpan die SMCR absolut aufwertet und eine perfekte und auch optisch ansprechende Lösung ist.
