Full control – at any time:
The MOFESSOR enables precise control of the lubrication amount in 10 levels. Thanks to intuitive operation via rotary dial, the oil supply can be adjusted exactly to motorcycle type, intended use and route conditions.

More flexibility in Expert Mode:
In addition to the preset levels, the integrated Expert Mode allows free programming of individual lubrication intervals – for maximum adaptability to your setup.

Rain? Off-road? No problem.
With Rain Mode, the oil amount can be temporarily increased while riding at the touch of a button – ideal for wet or heavily soiled routes. An LED indicator shows the active status.

Intelligent temperature compensation:
The MOFESSOR continuously measures the ambient temperature and automatically adjusts lubrication performance. This ensures that the optimal oil amount is always dispensed regardless of weather and season – whether midsummer or near freezing.

Well-thought-out mounting. Lasting effect.
Thanks to an innovative fastening system, the oil line and nozzle can be installed easily and securely. The transparent oil tank allows fill-level monitoring at any time – refilling is conveniently done via a freely placeable filling port.

More performance, less wear:
The MOFESSOR reduces friction, extends the service life of chain and sprockets, and ensures consistently optimal chain tension. The result: noticeably less maintenance effort, more power at the rear wheel – and reduced fuel consumption.

Range as needed:

  • approx. 5,000 km (60ml tank)
  • up to 10,000 km (120ml tank)

Practical down to the detail:

  • many model-specific connection plugs
  • large archive of installation examples
  • compatible with all common motorcycle types

Technical Concept

The MOFESSOR is based on an electronically controlled gravity system: an electromagnetic metering valve opens automatically, precisely and time-controlled during operation. When the ignition is switched off, the valve remains closed – for absolute safety without oil loss.
Using lubricating oil instead of chain spray reduces dirt adhesion and significantly simplifies cleaning. Lubrication is more uniform and effective – for a smooth riding experience on every kilometer.

FAQ

General

Are there any test reports? What is the experience so far?

  • The MOFESSOR has been on the market since the spring of 2017 and has already reliably performed its work many thousands of kilometres on a wide variety of motorcycles. On our test stand we have carried out an endurance test with simulated 100.000 KM without any problems. External experience reports can be found here and elsewhere: ttmotorbikeblog.wordpress.com and motorbike travel guide.de.

  • A detailed comparison and test of Chain oilers, including our MOFESSOR Chain oiler, was published in the March 2024 issue of TOURENFAHRER. The MOFESSOR received the “Price Tip” award.

Is the system waterproof?

  • Our system was designed for motorcycles that are exposed to environmental influences. We have taken this into account in the development.
The rain switch is certified to IP67 standard, the control unit is waterproof and vibration-proof encapsulated in the housing. The dosing valve as well as the rain switch are equipped with a waterproof plug connection. However, the system is not suitable for diving.
The MOFESSOR was tested on off-road motorcycles that were moved in a manner appropriate to the species and which were exposed to an increased degree to dirt and water.
Installation / Compatibility

On which motorcycles does the chain oiler fit?

  • The chain oiler MOFESSOR was developed in such a way that it can basically be used on all chain-driven motorcycles. Many typical installation situations have been considered to make the installation as easy as possible for the user. However, since each vehicle has its own geometry, it is still necessary to select the installation location and connection options individually. If questions should be open in the run-up to or during installation, we will be happy to advise you.

Are there model-specific installation instructions?

  • The selection of model-specific installation instructions is continuously being expanded and published on our page. You are welcome to contribute to this and support us with your installation instructions.

Do I need a model-specific connector plug?

  • If a special switched connection (auxiliary consumer connection) is available on your motorcycle, the MOFESSOR can be conveniently connected to it with a model-specific connector plug. If this is not the case, the connection is also possible without such a plug. The horn or the tail light, for example, are suitable for connection.

Electrics

What voltage/current does the chain oiler need?

  • The MOFESSOR is operated with a voltage of 12V. The required current consists of two parts:
    • The switching current, which activates the chain oiler via the ignition of the vehicle, is 20mA (0.02A).
    • The supply current, which is directly supplied from the battery during operation, is 500mA (0.5A).

How can the chain oiler be connected electrically to my motorcycle?

  • The MOFESSOR is connected to the battery and a 12V line switched with the ignition. For the connection of the switched 12V line we offer different model specific connectors. Alternatively, the connection can be made to any switched 12V line of the vehicle. Very easy connection to the horn is possible with the help of the installed branch connector on many vehicles.
    Support

Are problems with the CAN-BUS system or the LED light of my motorcycle to be expected?

  • No – the MOFESSOR was developed in such a way that the on-board power supply of the motorcycle is not affected. To date, there is no known case where faults have occurred with the CAN bus system.
Oil application / oil tank

Where must the application nozzle be mounted, on the sprocket or chainring?

  • The application nozzle can be mounted either in the area of the sprocket or on the chain wheel. Both variants were successfully tested. Experience has shown that the oil consumption at the large sprocket is somewhat lower, the oil application is most effective here. However, the best installation location for the application nozzle depends on the motorcycle and should always be chosen so that it can be securely attached and is protected from damage as far as possible.

Will the long range tank fit my Motorcycle, what are the dimensions of the oil tank?

  • Range: ~ 5000 KM (Standard) / ~ 10.000 KM (Long range)

For what purpose should the optionally available variable tank ventilation be used?

  • If the oil tank is installed with a very small inclination or crosswise to the direction of travel, it can happen that a small amount of oil escapes from the ventilation opening while driving when the oil tank is completely filled. The variable tank ventilation prevents this. Even when off-road, if the vehicle is often left on its side for a long time or if the rear wheel is often driven for a long time, we recommend using the variable fuel tank ventilation.

How do I find the correct setting for chain lubrication after installation?

  • We recommend starting with the lowest setting, stage 1, to avoid too much oil getting onto the chain. After approx. 50 KM, the oil quantity can be gradually increased. Changes need about 200 KM until they become clearly visible. The oil quantity must be increased until good lubrication of the chain is achieved.

How can I tell if my chain is well lubricated?

  • Basically only the chain rollers (grey) must be lubricated, here mainly friction occurs. The chain plates (gold) do not require lubrication:

  • There should be a thin, closed lubricating film, this is usually slightly greyish and is best seen by touching the chain rollers with a finger.
  • A break in the lubricating film on the chain rollers (dark spots appear and then the chain becomes metallically shiny) means that the lubrication setting is too low.

Will my motorcycle become contaminated with oil through a chain lubrication system?

  • With a correctly installed and adjusted chain lubrication system, the contamination on the motorcycle is significantly less than when using conventional chain spray. A light oil mist, which settles on the rim after a long period of use, can easily be wiped off together with the brake dust and dirt from the road.

My bike is dirty with oil after installing a chain lubrication system. What can I do?

  • Isolated small oil splashes or a light oil mist on the rim are normal. If there is significant contamination, the following causes may be responsible:
    • Dosing set too high
    • Nozzle not correctly installed, oil does not reach the chain
    • Chain was not cleaned properly or pre-lubricated manually before installation (even with new chains)
    • The application nozzle was shortened considerably or an incorrect nozzle was used
    • Incorrect oil used

Can I also use other oil?

  • We recommend to use the oil specially provided and tested by BEROTEC for the MOFESSOR. In principle the use of other oils is possible. So-called “organic oils” as well as sunflower oil and rapeseed oil should be avoided. These have a much greater tendency to resinify and can clog the system, especially if it is left standing for a long time. Solvent-containing substances must not be filled into the system.

Is it possible to use a Dual nozzle / dual injector?

  • Thanks to its creeping ability, the oil is able to wet the entire chain roller even when applied on one side. Double nozzles” split in the oil line have the disadvantageous physical behaviour that the system can drip if the nozzle ends are not at the same height. There is a risk of air being drawn over one nozzle side.
  • A Dual nozzle is more difficult to install and often mechanically more susceptible.
  • One-sided lubrication has the disadvantage that during frequent rain journeys rust can form on the outer flaps on the opposite side.
  • The use of our Dual nozzle has proven to be particularly advantageous in rain, dust or dirt. The chain is lubricated more evenly.
